Le Personality~Dramatic -- This comes Newt's natural way of showing his opinions, emotions and speech. So natural, it may come off as inappropriate or rude to those who don't know his behavior well. It is almost always over the top, be that he can't get something open or someone accidentally brushed by him. On the positive end, he can light up a room and create a party by simply conversing. It may come normal to him, but to those listening it's a play or comedy show to be seen. He has never had an issue creating small talk or getting his point across.
Exuberant -- Being no stranger to honesty, his emotions are just as out there. He has no issue with letting a few tears fall, or a fist come up. Newt was brought up with a mom and a dad who wanted him to never fear his feelings; as this seems to be a trait men usually hold back. It by no means makes his life easier, but he is respected by many for his ability to show and speak out his mind and heart. Finicky -- Because being his dramatic, over-the-top self was not enough! Not only does Newt hate things being out of line, he dislikes being called out for his fickle behavior. Nope. It starts the moment he wakes up. He believes he MUST wake up from the right side of his bed, wherever he is, or he will have a bad day. His eggs must be scrambled, never add salt, and you better have a nice coffee with 2 sugars ready. Newt knows what he likes, and will gladly remind you if you forget. But, when the big stuff comes, he is as cool as a cucumber, welcome to anything that comes. Go figure? Gullible -- This guy. He really has it coming for him. This drama king can let a small lie become god's word if he hears it right. Most of us have some common sense when reading facebook feed or spam on our emails. Newt, does not. He believes if it was sent to him, it is true. He has responded to spam calls happily, unaware of the annoying sometimes terror they can cause. How he has not gotten himself into trouble with these is beyond anyone. So in a nutshell; Newt is way to easy to impress. A simple Childhood to Unknown AdulthoodI was born and raised as an only child in a nice hometown, Covelly England. It's relatively close to London actually, which made for a lot of trips into the city and it's culture. My parents' names were Russell and Victoria Seville. They were simple-minded people who liked life to go in a certain manner. They disliked big events in life that caused them to leave their everyday groove. You could say i inherited some of their "finicky" manners.
In a lot of ways, i fit everything they wanted in a child. My grades were above average, I played soccer, had a few friends and could keep myself busy without their worry. By no means was i a perfect, sweet child. But, they certainly felt at peace knowing their son didn't get up to trouble. Even as a teenager, nothing was changing. For them, life was balanced. While they believed this though, i was dreaming and determined to do something in my life. My parents knew little of the changes happening to me, and the man i was becoming. They didn't know i was planning to go to the states for college. They had no idea i wanted to go for voice acting and theater theory as my majors. And...they certainly never saw my true personality. Perhaps it may be all an act for my friends and outside acquaintances. But, so was this interaction and appearance my parents believed in for years. At 18, i packed my bags, and made my exit from England. My parents were certainly astonished. Where did i get the money to move? I told them my part time job helped with starting off in college for necessities and such. I was given some grant money and free housing in the college i was going to as well. Did they really offer that? Of course, i didn't waste my time. I did research and applied to scholarships and grants, not to mention my grades helped boast the interest. Why in the world are you going so far, for such a odd major? I remember just starting at them for a moment. It occurred they may take time, lots of it, to understand. Perhaps if i was honest in the beginning, would it of made more sense? Would it have helped them accept it all? Newt really didn't wish to wait for the answer. He loved his family dearly, but would not allow his life to be ruled by simplicity and compliance. With that, I left... |
Le Carter Friendship~Carter is a friend of Newts' that he made during a comedy act Carter was doing when he first started out in his career. Since Newt was going to college for voice acting and theater theory, meeting Carter him only helped him. After his show, Carter spoke and got to know Newt a bit as to why he was interesting in chatting. Carter was ecstatic to meet someone who loved to entertain and talk as much as he did!
After their initial meeting, it took a while before they got to see each other again. Newt would try to meet up with Carter, only for him to...; lose his wallet, catch a virus, get chased by a flock of geese and finally get himself locked out of his house. Within two weeks after their meet. Newt felt horrible for giving rain checks over and over again to Carter. Considering they weren't close, Newt thought the worst and sulked. Carter had no idea, as he kind of mistook it as all a joke. Considering all that kept happening, he thought perhaps Newt was giving Carter an idea for a skit, which he used on a comedy club audience a night later. But, Newt was in the crowd and couldn't help but notice the resemblance. He hates me! So much that he is making an example out of me?? It hurt him. Once the club night was over, Carter had noticed Newt was by the bar, looking groggy with his head down. Still unaware, he came over to give pat on his back. "Did ya like my show tonight? I swear, it was pure gold, thanks to you!" Carter said happily. Newt looked up, looking angry. He snapped, getting up abruptly to point at him. "How DARE you make me look so stupid! What am I? A joke to you?" Newt said as if a light shone over him in a drama, his eyes twinkling from a tear. Carter blinked, taken back by this change in the personality he had known up till now. Was he serious? "Whoa...your acting is really good. You had me scared, man." He said, uneasily. Newt showed his teeth, not a hint of his normal blissful self. "I am NOT acting. I am serious. How could you make an example of me like this? Is that your way of showing your angry for me not showing up?" Carter became more worried, realizing that Newt was being honest and looked genuinely hurt. Carter shook his head quickly, his hands waving. "Wait hold up! Of course i would not!" He said, gulping at the scary look Newt had "I thought you were joking, about those times. It had given me an idea for a skit, but if i had known--no realized...I wouldn't have done it. Really!" The two looked at each other for a minute, tension there before it quickly vanished the moment Newt snapped back. A sincere, guilty look were on both of their faces. "Oh, wow. I guess you are right. I did have a lot of seemingly silly things happen." Newt said, scratching his head. "But, i was having a hard time." "I'm sure, wow! I hope I can make it up to you! Really.." Carter said with a sigh. "Oh, of course man. It was a misunderstanding is all. Let's try to be on the same level next time!" Even the most silly, happy people can have problems. Lesson learned? Never, ever assume! |
Fast forward 6 years. In this time frame, I had gone to college and meet Carter in a comedy club. As you know, he's quite the funny guy and loves to talk. We had a rough start sometime into the meetings, but you could say now he's one of my best of friends. I really respect they guy for what he does and after graduating and becoming roommates, he spoke to me about something I wasn't ready for. There was someone he liked, and it was in fact a guy. Sure, i was surprised, but i disliked judging people over something like that. It only hit me as stranger since up until now i swore he was just a flirter to everyone and didn't hold deep connections outside of friends. I suppose that wasn't a way to think of him kindly, but he told me all about this man he meet while abroad for school.

Marcaline and I...His name was Ki Joon in South Korea, which was pretty neat considering the distance from San Francisco to there. They sure were different people, but he loved that. It made me happy to see this new side of his friend and let him speak out. It hit a chord in Newt, as he wondered if he could see anyone like Carter had seen in Ki Joon. Sure, I had crushes throughout my school years and college, but never really made anything known.
I had a similar personality people saw to Carter. I loved to talk, I was overly dramatic over simple things, and could entertain a potted plant if i had to. That was the side most if not all besides my parents saw. I suppose sometimes i wonder what was the true me, and what was an act. And, that was put to the test once i became aquantied with Marceline. To start, she had only by chance run into me. I was already a graduate for the school i went to, but as a recent alumni and doing well in my career already, was asked to come in for a small speech. Among the group was this woman. She caught my eye by her sparkle she held while holding complete and utter focus on me. I thought i was running red, was there something on my face? No one else in the room stared like her as i spoke. Some where bored, other mildly interested. Really makes you wonder why they were here. But...not her. You could see why. Once my speech was over and it was closing up, the same woman approached me. She seemed a little wary, but determined to speak. I felt a bit red again, and couldn't understand why. She starting asking where i was in my career, why i chose it, and what it would take to become something in this sector. It was not only determination in her eyes, but something almost hidden...something that both interested me to understand but also struck my gut. It was her dream. And i was apart of helping her, even in for a moment. |
